Transforming Words was founded by Charlotte Shyllon. Depending on what clients need, Charlotte will either work directly with clients herself or, through strategic partnerships with other senior consultants and a well-established network of skilled vendors, can staff any size of project.
About our Director & Founder
Charlotte Shyllon
BSc (Hons), DipPR (CAM)
I am an experienced and award-winning communications professional, highly adaptable, entrepreneurial and a self-starter, with proven strategic thinking, leadership, business management and mentoring capabilities.
I was a Partner in a top 10 global communications agency and left in September 2016 after 8 years to set up Transforming Words. My former employer became my first client, and I now have a growing roster of clients.
I have a solid track record in consultancies gained over 20+ years, with expertise spanning public relations, public affairs, digital and social media, change management and internal comms. As a senior strategic consultant, I led numerous global, regional and UK accounts for major pharmaceutical companies, leading charities and global intergovernmental agencies such as the World Health Organization.
My agency background is complemented by nearly six years in-house, setting up and running the communications and marketing function in a large not-for-profit community organisation. I led a team of 11 full-time staff and around 50 volunteers, covering PR, marketing, event promotion, advertising, broadcast media, crisis and reputation management, and government relations.
At the start of my career, I worked in community pharmacy and pharmacy journalism. As well as a postgraduate diploma in PR, I hold qualifications in pharmacy and journalism.
